Welcome
to installation section for the the AE111 Toyota corrolla
Please
note that these instructions consists of 3 sections:
1.
Removing your clustar unit
2.
Installing the Indiglo Dials
3.
Connecting and re-installation of the clustar unit
Before
we begin, it is important to know a few things first.
When installing the dials have patience, try and work work with
finesse as the clustar internals are delicate, so follow the steps
and instructions closely and you will be fine
Try and read through all 3 sections AT LEAST TWICE before even
attempting to install, then read it again while installing, pausing
and going back etc. as you go along. If you get confused you can
simply go back a few steps. In essence the installation is quite
simple, nothing to be scared of :-)
Tools required:
- Rubber
gloves, this will ensure that you don’t leave any finger
prints on the dial plates in case you touch it.
- You
will need 2 star screwdrivers; 1 small and 1 medium one,
- Some
insulation tape.
- Lastly
you will need a knife and some 2 sided tape to mount the brightness
adjuster switch in position
-
You will also need 2 spoons, but we will deal that later in
the section.
- You
will also require some patience :-) , try not to rush this.
If you find yourself in a hurry then it is best to install it
at a later time when you have more time at hand.
Please note the dials in the video might not be exactly the same
as yours, but it would be very similar, and the process is exactly
the same. So try and understand the process and follow closely.
Attempt
the installation after everything makes sense to your understanding
of the procedures involved. |

Removing your clustar unit:
Step1:
Position
your steering height to the lowest position, so that the next step is
easier
Un-screw
the 2 screws located at the top of the plastic unit

Then
remove the plastic unit as shown in the next 2 pictures

Then
unscrew the 3 screws holding the clustar unit in place. The 3 screws
are located in the following positions:

Once
the screws are removed, proceed to take your clustar out by bringing
it out SLIGHTLY in order to reach and unclip the plugs
at the back:
Note, that there are 4 plugs and 1 mounting clip that
has to be unclipped. The plugs unclip easily, but the mounting clip
is very tightly secure and has to be wiggled out until it is completely
out of its socket

Bringing
the clustar out slightly

The
mounting clip that has to be wiggled out and unclipped
